OUR METALS

Crafted to suit different lives, rhythms, and ways of wearing.

At the heart of every piece we create is a commitment to quality and self-expression. We have expanded our offerings to suit different needs and to give our muses the freedom of choice — allowing you to craft your own stories with pieces that truly align with your lifestyle and values.

Gold

Gold has been treasured for centuries for its permanence, warmth, and resilience.

Gold purity is measured in karats (k), which refers to the measure of gold purity. The higher the karat, the higher the gold content.
This should not be mistaken for carats (ct), which measure gemstone weight.

18K Gold

The standard of luxury.

18K gold is composed of 75% pure gold, and is the global benchmark for high-end jewelry. It has always been the foundation of all our creations up to date. Its high gold content offers a depth of colour and prestige that is unmistakeable, ensuring that the piece you wear today remains a vibrant heirloom for generations.

Its softness allows for more intricate and detailed craftsmanship, opening greater possibilities in design and customisation.

All 18K white gold pieces are finished with rhodium plating.

9K Gold

Strength and accessible luxury.

9K gold is composed of 37.5% pure gold. We have included 9K in our offering to provide a more accessible entry point into solid gold without compromising on long-term quality.

The higher proportion of alloyed metals make 9K gold significantly harder than 18K. This makes it well suited for active lifestyles or pieces intended for frequent, everyday wear, as it is less prone to scratching or bending.

All 9K white gold pieces are finished with rhodium plating.
All 9K yellow gold pieces are finished with 18K gold electroplating.

Silver

Silver is a timeless precious metal, beloved for its bright luster and its ability to suit any skin tone. It offers a sophisticated, high-end feel while remaining an approachable choice for bold, statement designs.

925 Sterling Silver

The Versatile Precious Metal.

Sterling silver is composed of 92.5% pure silver, and is the standard alloy in fine silver jewelry. As a precious metal alternative, it allows for incredible creative freedom thanks to its accessible price point.

Silver is naturally softer than gold, making it well suited for expressive designs and everyday pieces.

All sterling silver pieces are finished with rhodium plating.
All yellow sterling silver pieces are finished with 18K gold electroplating.

Metal Finishes

Metal finishes defines the metal’s final character and brilliance. They refine tone, enhance durability, and creates consistency across different metals. These treatments are chosen with intention, balancing aesthetics with longevity.

18K Gold Plating

Electroplating is a process where a layer of solid gold is bonded to a base metal (like silver or 9K gold) using an electromagnetic current.

All of our 9K gold and silver pieces in yellow are finished with 18K solid gold electroplating, allowing for a consistent, rich gold tone across our offering.

Industry standard plating is typically 0.5 microns, which can wear off quickly. Our plating is applied at 2-3 microns, offering significantly greater durability and longevity.

At this thickness, our pieces qualify as gold vermeil. We prefer to use the term plating, as the difference lies purely in micron thickness. The application process itself remains the same, and we believe in being transparent about how our finishes are achieved.

Rhodium Plating

Rhodium plating is a process where a thin layer of rhodium, a precious metal from the platinum family, is bonded to a base metal using an electromagnetic current.

All of our white metal options, including white gold and sterling silver, are finished with rhodium plating to enhance brightness and create a clean, crisp white appearance. It also provides added protection against tarnishing and surface wear, helping each piece retain its luminosity over time.

This is a standard industry practice.

As with all plated finishes, rhodium will naturally wear with use, particularly on high contact areas such as rings. Replating is a straightforward and routine maintenance process when desired.

Other Offerings

In addition to our core metal selections, we are able to work with the following metals upon request.

14K Gold

The Middle Ground.

14K gold is composed of 58.5% pure gold.

You may notice a jump in our standard offerings, as the price difference between 14K and 18K gold is typically only around 20%. We want to focus on providing a more meaningful distinction in both price and performance.

14K gold remains a popular global standard for its balance of purity and wearability, and we are happy to craft your chosen design in this metal upon request.

Platinum

The Ultimate White Heirloom Metal.

Platinum is the rarest and most prestigious of the precious metals. Naturally white and incredibly dense, it does not require plating to maintain its colour. Our platinum is composed of 95% pure platinum, which is the global fine jewelry standard.

We particularly recommend platinum for bridal and engagement rings due to its exceptional durability. Unlike gold, which gradually wears away over decades of use, platinum displaces rather than loses metal, allowing it to retain its integrity over time. This quality makes it a true forever metal.

Due to its high density, we do not typically recommend platinum for pieces such as earrings, as it would be noticeably heavier than its gold counterparts.

If you wish to explore 14K gold or platinum for your piece, we invite you to begin through our bespoke process.
